Knowing the size of your shop will be very important in deciding how many tables you can bring. Three has worked well for me in the past as they will fit under my EZup awning. Outside you may get a larger area and will need it, as an awning will be important to keep off the beating sun. Inside, spots have been a tad smaller and was only able to have a two table configuration. So check and plan the lay out before you leave home. Once you arrive at the show, the object will be to set up so you are ready and calm when the first customers arrive.
Attractive table coverings that are ironed and clean. I suggest a solid color so your items will clearly pop right out not get lost in crazy patterns. Use baskets or boxes to help organize. Have your crafts arranged in a logical order keeping groupings together. That way if a customer wants a purple butterfly and not a yellow one, it is readily accessible for them. This aides in keeping a tidy table as well. Ensure that all pieces are marked and easily visible area or post signage for a group of items. People will walk away, especially you are busy with another customer, if they can not figure out a price. Prevent unnecessary loss of business and plan ahead. Having your signage prepared and your price tags applied to each craft piece before you leave home. Grab a chair or two so you can sit and be comfortable.
You are going to need something to hold your change and cash. I prefer something like a fanny pack so the money is on me at all times lessening the chances of getting lost or stolen. Before you leave home make a trip to the bank and get plenty of change. You will not want to miss out on a sale because you can not make change for the customer.
Business cards are a great help. People will remember who you are and what your craft is. It makes the experience personal and friendly. and an easy way to start a conversation with a browser which can lead to a good sale. In the future should they desire more of your product, they will have your name and number.
Bags will be needed for obvious reasons. Have an abundance available. If your merchandise is breakable, you will want packing materials for protection as they continue to go through the show and even boxes size appropriate. Trash bags need to be on the list as well. Keep your booth clean and tidy and do not leave traces when you depart.
You will need pencil/pen to keep tally on your inventory sheet and receipt book. You will need to keep track of merchandise coming and going and the money changing hands as you go throughout your day.
Pack a cooler with plenty of drinks and food for the length of time you are spending at your booth. Is it just an afternoon event. Not much will be needed. If it is an all day affair, prepare yourself well with a stocked cooler so you remain comfortable and pleasant. Hopefully you have a friend with you and you can have a little break away. If not, you will be prepared all around. Take some craft work as well. You will be glad you did, as there will be lulls with boredom. You probably will want to take a few miscellaneous items, i.e. scissors, tape, extra price tags, etc.
Make a list and check it twice before you before hitting the road. Keep all lists and show papers in a folder for quick access. Be organized because things can get pretty hectic if not. Enjoy your experience and have a fantastic event.

“Shall I tell you the secret of the true scholar? It is this: every man I meet is my master in some point, and in that I learn of him.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Keep your ears and eyes open while you are at the event. See how other more seasoned sellers set their booths. What have they used for inexpensive yet attractive displays. Better yet, be willing to share your knowledge and experience with others as well. Everyone there can teach us something, including the customers as to what they like and what they think would make a better shopping experience. Always be willing to learn and grow. As the old saying goes, “You learn something new everyday!”
